Went in for a specific item that few stores carry but World Market carries. They only had 1 hanging on the rack but I wanted 5 or 6 for Christmas gifts. I asked the nearest employee if they had anymore in stock anywhere. She disappeared for about 10 minutes and then came back and said the computer says we have 50 in stock but this 1 is the only one we have out then proceeded to hand the 1 back to me and walk away without helping me get more. So I looked at the sku# on the tag, found the case right above the rack where they're supposed to be hanging, climbed up and grabbed the box myself, cut open the box with a key and grabbed what I needed. The lazy employee had zero interest in helping me so I helped myself.

Wonderful collection of items. Particularly frequent for food items. Even my husband likes roaming the aisles while I shop which is an added bonus.

Today I made a return at this location for an in store pickup order. Unfortunately after today’s events it’ll be my last day shopping at World Market. The table that I was returning was missing screws, I was met with a very disgruntled worker, Nancy, a heavyset caucasian women, who refused the return.

I asked if I could leave my item inside the store while I figure things out, she refused. After trying to get a dolly to take the items out of my car, she ran in front of me, blocking the dolly being extremely defensive. At this point, I felt unsafe and asked to speak with the manager on duty. I was met with a manager (I did not get her name, Hispanic women) who was understanding, yet educated me on the protocol of the store. She said that she would be able to order the missing parts. An option I was not given to by the associate, Nancy.

The prior escalation by the associate was completely unnecessary and showed her true character, or lack thereof, and reflects poor commitment to customer service/satisfaction for the company.

Luckily, I was able to get the situation rectified by the manager. As well as being compensated by customer service after filling a complaint on this associate with corporate. I typically shop at the location in Buckhead, but was in the area. I would avoid this store if you can

I love World Market in general, but this review is specifically for the manager who was working Friday evening.
I missed adding the 20% pick-up code to my expensive online order at checkout, so when I arrived for pickup, I asked about how we could fix that. The manager said they can’t do anything in store, and customer service would tell me the same if I called. Said it was my responsibility to make sure it’s added before checking out (WM dev, please fix this on your website!). I was pretty frustrated with the policy, but this manager was AMAZING and found a solution. She was patient with me and acknowledged my frustration, but remained kind and helpful. I really appreciated her going above and beyond to help me. What could have been a terrible customer experience ended up being a very pleasant one.

I’ve always loved cost plus world market and so glad they are still going! Lots of neat stuff for house decor and the selection of around the world foods and snacks is very cool!
