I would like to share my experience with the interview process at this music school. Alexandra, the person who scheduled my interview, did not show up at the agreed-upon time. When I reached out to ask if we would still have the interview, she responded briefly, saying her car had broken down. While I understand that emergencies happen, people couldn’t have a reaction to it immediately. I believe it was unprofessional for her not to inform me ahead of time that she couldn't make the interview, rather than waiting for me to reach out.

What I found most disappointing was not the fact that she missed the interview, but the way she handled it. When I pointed out that she should have notified me sooner, she reacted defensively, accusing me of lacking grace, compassion, and kindness. She even went as far as to say that being late is something most professionals experience at some point in their careers. I find this hard to believe.

I treat people with respect, and I expect the same in return. After her rude comments, including accusing me of making up stories to make myself feel better, I felt compelled to speak up. It’s clear to me that if this is how she conducts herself as a leader, this institution is unlikely to succeed.

I stand by the principle that I have every right to stand up for myself when treated unfairly and disrespectfully.

Responding to your reply:

It's unnecessary to blame others while creating your own stories. As I’ve mentioned, I don’t really care what you think—respecting others is the most important lesson in life. Perhaps it's time to go back to school and get some education, or seek guidance from your family and parents. Good luck with your business, but honestly, there's no point in continuing this argument.

Also, if you feel the need to speak with a therapist, I’d be happy to recommend some of the best ones in town. As for the interview, Alexandra wanted to schedule it for later in the day, but I let her know I wasn’t available at that time. So, after your situation, how would you have responded so quickly to my initial message asking if the interview was still happening? It seems you may just need to admit that you didn’t want the interview at an early time and made up an excuse.

WOW, such a high standard about hiring teachers. So why there were bad reviews on your previous teachers here? Hilarious!

Also, the truth is, I refused to reschedule with your interview again not you rejected me. Good story-maker, you guys. Such a wonderful job!

I took a piano lesson at Green Brooms in their newest location in South Pasadena. The studio is located in a large, green, old-style home on the corner. Once I walked in the door it immediately reminded me of when I was young, taking piano lessons at a teacher’s home (without that weird intrusive feeling).
It had been nearly 10 years since I had a piano lesson, but the teacher explained everything so well that my memories came rushing back.
No matter your age, Green Brooms proves to be a great place to learn music in a relaxing atmosphere.
Please note that I had done previous work (PR) with Green Brooms, but I was truly blown away by my piano teacher’s knowledge and patience. She had no idea that I knew the owner yet she gave a wonderful piano lesson!

We LOVE this school! My son is taking voice here and he is having the time of his life and learning a great deal. He loves theater, so his teacher focuses not only on vocal technique, but also the theatrical aspects of singing and putting it all together. We love the laid back, homey & welcoming vibe of the school, the owners and the teachers. It's a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere but at the same time, very professional. Very much looking forward to the student shows. I highly recommend this school if you are looking for intimate, one on one instruction in a professional and welcoming environment.

AVOID. We had a bad experience with their violin teacher, Jason. I have discussed our experience with many others, and all agree it was a hurtful experience for a child to go through. I would definitely look into the other wonderful music schools in the area (like Encore) so your child doesn't end going through the horrible experience of being turned away by one of their instructors!

This school is really awesome!! I live in San Francisco and during the pandemic I decided I wanted to start taking guitar and voice lessons. I was looking around for schools and I got recommended this music school. I looked on the website and it says they were doing some lessons on zoom. During the online lessons I got I learned so much on how to become a better singer, how to warm up my voice, and how to play a song on the guitar. I felt really welcomed despite the fact that I live in San Francisco.and that the lessons were online. My teacher was so great and if I ever had questions I would email someone from the school and they would be answered very quickly. All in all it is a great music school and even though I don’t live in Pasadena the lessons online were so great. I learned just as much as I would have in a class.

Green Brooms was a very inviting atmosphere to relax and learn to play guitar. Upon entry it seemed to be an old victorian style house. When walking in, I was greeted by the smiling, very nice young woman who worked at the front desk. After a complimentary coffee, I was met promptly by my teacher and we walked to our lesson room. He was a really nice guy who was very open to taking the lesson in any musical direction I was into. I liked this a lot because it allowed me to tailer the lesson in any way I felt. Also, I was taught some music theory knowledge that proved to be really interesting. I give his guitar lesson five stars.

Very grateful to have had the opportunity to take singing lessons with Alex Domingo. Not only does she possess a tremendous amount of technical knowhow when it comes to singing technique, she really works with her students to establish goals that best suit their needs. I'd recommend her for all singing levels!
