I've had my share of broken bones over the years, some more seriously injured than others, but this is the first time I've had any surgically repaired where I just felt totally fine the next day. Even as the nerve blockers have worn off, I can feel my ROM retuning and the pain is nominal. The office staff, his PA, and everyone I've seen so far have been top notch.

I had a fine experience with Dr. Khan and the office staff UNTIL it came time for my 6 week follow-up appointment after surgery. The appointment was originally scheduled for July 26. They called earlier that week and said that Dr. Khan had a family emergency and asked if I would be ok seeing his PA instead of him. I said yes, but then they called me back and said the PA wanted Dr. Khan to be there for my appointment so I would need to reschedule. No problem, life happens, I understand. I reschedule for the following week, August 2. They call that week and tell me that he’s still dealing with the family emergency and I’m going to need to reschedule again. Ok, again no problem, I’ll reschedule. Trying to reschedule the appointment, they have very limited availability and the first date that was available and I could make it was today, August 20. So I get there and the receptionist who has always been very nice tells me she needs to collect my copay. There is a 90 day period following surgery where no copay is collected, and now because I’ve been asked to reschedule so many times, my appointment no longer falls within the 90 days. Of course this does not sit well with me, so the receptionist gets the office manager. The office manager tells me there is nothing she can do and walks away. I then made the decision to not be seen because it doesn’t seem fair at all. Had I canceled any of my appointments, I would have been charged. Now they cancel on me TWICE and can’t fit me in within the 90 days, and I’m the one who has to pay the price. It’s very unjust. Seems like they should have something in place to cover the cost when it’s the doctor’s fault an appointment has to be canceled. Despite having a good experience with Dr. Khan during my appointments and surgery, I would not recommend this office due to lack of taking responsibility on the part of the office manager. She said to me, “If I do it for you (not require a copay) then I have to do it for everyone.” Oh, so that’s a good reason?! You should do it for everyone, especially when it’s not the fault of the patients. Do better!

I had a very bad experience. I made an appointment to see Dr. Khan, but instead they switched my appointment with the physician assistant. She administered an injection for my trigger finger and ended up making my symptoms even worse in the same day!!! Before my appointment, I was able to bend my thumb freely. The irony is that I thought seeing a doctor could help it before it got worse, but it ended up worsening my symptoms!

The front desk person was also incapable of scheduling appropriate appointments. I told her over the phone when scheduling my appointment that I didn’t want to see any physician assistants or nurse practitioners. Still, she made an appointment with a physician assistant. Why would someone do that? I trusted her. I thought I was going to see Dr. Khan.

I was only informed that I will see a physician assistant when I was already at the appointment.

Now I have to look for a different hand specialist Doctor. I wasted my time, money and suffering. I will never recommend anyone to go here.

Currently under Dr. Khans care the second time for a different injury. He and his surgical staff are a well honed team. My results and aftercare have been excellent and highly recommend his expertise.

Also giving top marks for his incredible front office staff. Friendly, efficient and as witnessed, work well under pressure.

One caveat- don’t expect to see Doctor Khan’s soft and fluffy side! He’s all about providing you with the best possible outcome for your surgical condition and that’s really what we want, right?

I received excellent care! Dr. Khan found, and corrected, a tendon issue with my wrist that was causing a lot of pain. The surgical experience was excellent. I have minimal scarring, and most importantly, no more pain. I have been able to gain use and strength back in the hand. It was a process, as he explained well that it would be. But the process was made as pleasant as possible, and was well worth going through for the results. Everyone in the office was kind, compassionate, and friendly.

I had been suffering from really painful quervain tendinitis in both wrists for several months. I did see another orthopedic who prescribed NSAIDS and gloves. I tried 3 different kinds of gloves they didn’t help.
Then I was told by my physician to go see Dr Khan.
He was thorough, spent the necessary time, explained in detail the issues, explained that there is no permanent damage and knowing I had been suffering for several months gave the cortisone shots, which is what I wanted to try.

The shots did help and I think PT helped a lot more, both recommended by Dr Khan.

The pain is there as this situation can take up to a year to recover from but overall is moving in the right direction.

Early morning serious pain subsides with certain PT exercises.

His staff was also cordial and respectful including his NP.
Front desk was also quick and professional.
I would highly recommend Dr Khan.

Outstanding Surgeon. My husband tore the tendon on his bicep 90% off of the bone & let it go for apx one month. Dr. Akhtar was literally able to save the fine motor skills in his arm. The surgery took an hour to 1.5 hours longer than anticipated as he was so careful to make sure it was done properly.
