This place is amazing the owner and staff is really nice and even the other children are sweethearts. I can tell that the people who work here truly care about the development and education of the children as I have seen 1 on 1 teaching sessions for the children to improve themselves. Even going as far as to make it fun and exciting for the children. I also really love the events that they put on for them such as trips and activities to different places of fun and education. One day I was told that they learned a ton about through various projects and seeing them in person. I truly enjoy this place and can tell the staff truly cares.

The owner is one of the most kind and loving people I have ever met. She loves to have a good time and put on new activities to make sure the children are not only growing and developing but having fun in the process. Dr. Smith is also a lovely individual to talk to. These people will greet you with a smile and address any concerns that you may have in a very professional manner. I highly recommend sending your child here.

I highly recommend this daycare. The care is great, the owners love and care for each child according to their individual needs. They've excellent educational tools, and teaching strategies that will continue to grow each student according to the level they are currently on. The activities and projects are fun and awesome as well. If you're looking for an all around amazing place to help educate your kid and prepare them for the next level of life. My two daughters attended this Academy, and I was very impressed with the learning skills! I've since placed them in a private school ( moved to another town), and believe it or not, the education and support system was three times better at A Step Up Academy! My family and I had a great experience and built a genuine relationship with their team! Ms. SHAWNY AND MS STEPHANIE are both no-nonsense yet very personable! You never know what you have until it's gone! I highly recommend this daycare/academy! Great job!

The center is focused on ensuring that the children receive a well rounded education that focus on all the developmental areas social, emotional, cognitive literature, language, physical and intellectual. Children are prepared to further their education after leaving the center. Staff is trained and continue to receive support as they grow in their career.

If this place is still open it needs to be shut down immediately and never needs to be re-opened. I see reviews from Ms. L Smith set at 5 stars… smh! Her sister and father owns this place if I can remember straight. I have never seen or witnessed a daycare like this before, and I left almost as soon as I got there. I’ll never forget witnessing a teacher (Ms. Venus) hit children DAILY!!! She was extremely mean to children and would try to bribe them with snacks or extra play time. There was also a student with physical impairments, so much that he could not eat solid foods. However, he could have apple sauce and pudding which is sweet and tasty, but whenever he would do something (age appropriate of course, but maybe just a little impulsive like talking or playing during lesson time) she would have the kitchen staff to mash up canned green peas for him to eat as a punishment. I pray that God has made her pay 10x for all of the traumatic experiences that these children went through. Ms Shaunny is a joke! NO ONE SHOULD EVER SEND THEIR CHILD HERE! ITS HORRIBLE AND UNSAFE! THEY ALL COVER UP FOR EACH OTHER WHENEVER DCFS COMES ON-SITE SO THEIR INVESTIGATIONS ALWAYS GO UNFOUND. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! She (Ms. Venus) hit children with rulers, and even switches from the tree on the playground outside sometimes. Just sad! She was also about 340 pounds and very mean looking in the face so it was just terrible. She would even whoop her grandchildren in front of everyone while at the daycare. Just SAD!
