This place was great! They had _several_ types of hot press watercolor paper (something that’s difficult to find even online), and lots of brands with lots of options. They weren’t limited to art on paper either, they had clay, canvases, airbrush ink, screen printing stuff, clay, sculpting supplies, and I even saw a pack of wool roving. The prices were reasonable as well, there were maybe a few things you could get cheaper elsewhere but overall very good, most of the erasers were under $1. They have art classes too, and the employees were drawing while waiting at the counter.

I'm an art student and was thrilled with the selection! They have so much in lots of different brands, plus they had lots of sales when I went. The guy running the store was friendly and knowledgeable. If I didn't have to walk I'd be in here every other week.

This was my first visit and honestly, I am very new to art but this place seemed to have it all! There were SO many options for different medias and it was just a cute store. I would highly recommend this to my art friends!

Staff and environment is fantastic but prices are a little wild - usually better off going to blick or something similar that cut below the list price. I usually only come when it’s a small order where I won’t feel the difference much (and in that case they’re awesome). They offer a discount to everyone who follows on Instagram so I’m sure the prices are just ramped up to work with everyone’s discount, but on big things it feels like it
doesn’t level out to me.

I needed my block print framed. It had been two years since I received my carefully chosen original block printed piece from Mokuhankan Prints in Japan. I was excited to finally get it framed. I entrusted my print with them that was protected in its original packaging. As soon as it was finished I took it home and had a good look at it and noticed that there was a slight kink in the print. No worries, I thought, I am sure they will make it right. Was I wrong. I met with the owner and received a hard no compromise offer of $100 for a print that cost me $300 plus the shipping cost from Japan and the framing cost of $128. Totaling roughly $465. To add to the confusion the print was also not framed as instructed and the print border was cut to fit in the undersized frame. A big no no, right? I wanted it framed with the Japanese lettering on the sides and with the top cut off that would make it aesthetically impossible. The owner offered me a $35 dollar print from Etsy, knowing well (I would hope) that it was not an original woodblock print, on top of that made it seem like I was hard to please because I would not accept this as a possible solution. After much haggling back and forth, taking several days, in the end was offered $375, after more back and forth It ended mournfully with $300 and I kept the frame.
I lost money, ended up letting go of a print that was near and dear to my heart and was treated horribly. I cannot emphasize enough how disrespected I felt as a customer, how I was talked too and how much of a battle it was to get under compensated for their screw up.
