Gorgeous hike! Absolutely stunning videos and pictures. However, please please PLEASE be careful if you hike here. I would recommend a headlamp with strong lumens maybe 500 or more. And bring the ten essentials!

My boyfriend and I got stranded out there at 5 PM during the winter and it was pitch black and only us two were on the trail. It was terrifying to say the least to walk behind the last waterfall with no railing and walk a few miles back to the car in the freezing cold and dark.

The signs aren't entirely helpful at this park / on the trails. There is no "you are here" circle nor are the trails marked with signs telling you you're heading to either parking lot. We had to guess and use Google's poor GPS system. The beginning trail area with the cabins, gift shop, and theater, aren't very well lit so we weren't sure we were walking the correct way back towards the car. The only way we knew we might be on the right track was due to the red brick I remember walking on in the beginning.

We saw multiple sets of eyes in the dark while fast walking on the bike trail. We noticed two ended up being deer as they approached us but still unsure about the third set. There is bear and cougar occurrences out there.
