It's companies like this that give insurance companies a bad name. Record profits but they screw the paying customers. if I could give them zero stars, I would, but they won't allow you to post a review with zero stars. We paid extra on our insurance and got the “Equipment Breakdown” coverage through Mutual Boiler RE. An expansion tank on one of our boilers had a leak and caused additional damage to the heat exchanger inside of the unit. Despite our heating specialist claiming that this was an equipment/mechanical failure, Mutual Boiler RE looked at two photos and claimed that the boiler was old and they weren't going to cover it. We maintain all of our equipment with annual checkups, monthly filter changes, etc. But despite all of this, you'll get denied. Read all the negative reviews on these people and look elsewhere for your coverage because these people will find a loophole on why your claim won't be covered. Companies like these should be out of business and identified as predatory with the State Attorney Generals of each state.

a very bad adjuster. My insurance company told me my coverage would be covered basically unless it was blow up, but of course, this adjuster denied my claim.

Mutual Boiler was the "service line rider" provider through my main home-owners insurer Auto-Owners. Water line burst. City confirmed on a Monday. Made claim same day. Got a quote the next day. Spoke to adjuster and sent quote Wednesday, it was approved immediately. I had the money in my account by the next Wednesday. Plumber ran into a few issues and had to make an amendment, that was approved as well and paid promptly. Only hold up in the entire process was a delay from plumber sending the revised invoice. I was a bit stressed given the overall repair was about $6,500, but they were efficient and pleasant to work work with.

This company should be out of business. Our equipment breakdown claim we pay extra for (they act like they pay our insurance out their pockets) was denied due to “wear and tear”. We had a critical part fail it was a mechanical breakdown due to a faulty part- not wear and tear! Technician even confirmed this yet they still claimed it’s wear and tear. Scam artists it’s sickening. You get insurance for peace of mind and as a cushion in the event you should need it yet God forbid if you use it: you’re denied OR they punish you for filing a claim when it comes time for policy renewal! Insurance is the biggest scam

We recently had our furnace break down and so glad that we paid extra to have the “Equipment Breakdown” coverage through Mutual Boiler, right up until the claim was processed and it was denied. Don’t be fooled, they have 5000 loop holes as to why your claim cannot be covered. They were very quick to deny our claim. What a complete waste of money!

Made sure to add pool coverage to our insurance plan when we purchased our 1st home... Been there 3yrs and the pool filter LID cracked, Claim was denied due to "wear and tear" our system is no longer available/obsolete.... I live in a rural community and I had to pay $125 and find someone to come look at and give them a report because they wouldn't. Have left message for Nicole with no return calls from her. And Carol sounds like she is inside a washing machine and can't hear or understand anything she she is saying. Very UNPROFFESIONAL !!!!!

Very awful experience. If I was able to give negative stars I would. They were rude to me and then ghosted me. I called and emailed my adjuster several times and she did not get back to me. She didn't have the courage to explain why they denied my claim. They mislead me. Do not get their coverage. They are a predatory business.

Bought one of their policies through American family insurance. Did not know that it wasn’t American family coverage until we submitted a claim. Our washing machine broke, and they would not cover the replacement. Apparently a transmission is a wear part on a two-year-old washing machine. If the coverage didn’t work in this situation, I can’t think of one that it would. Dropped coverage immediately!
