I came to Jocelyn years ago after impulsively buying a Monique Lhuiller wedding dress. The dress had no sleeves and I eventually came to the conclusion that I wanted long sleeves. I thought there was no hope, but I spoke to Jocelyn and told her my ideas of completely redoing the top, showed inspiration pictures and she made the impossible possible! She even found the same fabric. The dress turned out even better than I imagined. It's been 5 years and I still look back at my experience with her with so much love. She's absolutely incredible at what she does! Forever grateful!

It looks like my previous review was somehow removed, so I am reposting. Jocelyn ruined my wedding dress. She took the gorgeous layers of silk that flowed when I walked and sewed them all together so I was wrapped up and couldn’t walk. When I was distressed about not being able to walk and the fact the dress looked nothing like I remembered, she said I just needed to walk slower. It was a complete disaster. I had to find an emergency tailor 2 weeks ahead of my wedding to take it apart and resew the entire thing. When I asked Jocelyn for my money back she refused and called me a b and blocked my number. I was distraught. I submitted pictures and info to my credit card company to get my money back. Don’t go here!

I am not someone who writes reviews but felt compelled to do so if it saves even one bride from my experience.

The one thing I regret about my wedding is using Jocelyn.

I bought my dress basically off the rack, so it just needed to be shortened and tightened in my chest area. I also custom purchased straps to be added to the dress, and needed the train bustled. At my first fitting everything seemed great I told her to add the straps and she took my measurements to take the dress in where necessary. She told me she could handle the work and suggested I come back for two more fittings. At that first fitting she asked me if I wanted the dress to be taken in because “all brides lose weight”, I told her we could reconsider at my second fitting because I did not plan on losing weight (I am a midsized women, size 12-14).

I went back for my second fitting and nothing was done, my dress was not shortened and the chest was not tightened. She reassured me that everything would be fine. She again made comments on my weight.

I went back for my final fitting ONE WEEK before my wedding and she had three appointments double booked. She told me I was there at the wrong time, but I had triple saved the date and had the original receipt with the time on it. The other women seemed to as well, it was chaos and clear she triple booked us. It is a terrible feeling when you are there for a special fitting and there are three other brides waiting too.

At my FINAL fitting, where I was supposed to take my dress home, there were still PINS in my dress. My dress straps that I had told her three months prior I wanted sewed on were still pinned to my dress, AND she took my dress in several inches without my consent. When I asked her about it she said she assumed I would lose weight. She rushed to sew the straps on with clips, but they were not sewn into the dress like I had requested months prior. My dress had a long train that I paid to have bustled also.

On my wedding day my straps broke off, they literally popped off during my first dance because of her lack of planning and craftsmanship. I will never get those photos of my first dance back where my dress literally fell apart. My bustle ALSO broke during the second dance of the night and I had to carry my train for the rest of the night.

If it was just the weird comments about weight, I would brush it off, I understand that I’m curvy at 5’5 with large hips and DDD breasts, weighing 165. But it was CLEAR that after 3 months with my dress most of the alterations that I paid for were not completed and the ones that were literally fell apart at the seams within 6 hours of wearing it.

Steer clear of this seamstress is you are curvy or have any concerns about her being able to complete the work on time. She ruined my dress.

Jocelyn was so great to work with! She was very busy but was able to fit me in on a weekend. She even made my veil to match my wedding dress. Highly recommend!!

Jocelyn was a joy to work with! She was able to alter a lace BHLDN dress to fit me perfectly. Her price was extremely reasonable and less expensive than other places I got quotes from. At my wedding, many people complimented my dress and said “it was made for me”. That is all thanks to Jocelyn and her expert alterations.
